Ending 2024 and Beginning 2025
Good grief, y’all. I was out of work starting in October and finally returned on January 2nd. I was so happy to get back to work! Unfortunately, my first day back was 1.5 hrs. We were kicked out by the owners who wanted a different trade working instead and they did not want multiple trades working. So, back home I went. However, I am sick with a head cold and sound horrendous so it wasn’t the worst thing to happen 🙂 I am drinking a ton of tea and cozy on the couch with a blanket. Like I said, not so bad of a day. I will be going to the folks’ place with my auntie to play games with Mama.
Ok, now to get to the end of 2024. A week before Christmas I woke up to find a text from my dad to our family. He had taken mom to the ER because of weird pain. It had ended up being a heart attack. Turns out, she had been having heart attacks off and on the week prior as well.
She had the widow maker, 98%+ blockage in the left artery. She is one of the very rare women who survived this particular heart attack. The reason is, that most women don’t realize they are having a heart attack. The symptoms you grow up hearing about are for men. She had heart surgery to clear the blockage, thankfully not an open heart surgery but there is so much damage it is going to take months to heal from. We spent our Holiday’s thankful to be together. Thankful mommy is still with us. Then we all got sick together and spent a day of Christmas and games on New Year’s Day.
Here’s to a New Year filled with healing and togetherness. Golly, I truly hope this next year is less painful and stressful. Lord, a break, my family could use a break, please.
I am VERY excited for the future of Altoona Lutheran Ministry. This year is going to bring amazing new chances and hope to the community. Let it be all good. In the end, it will be good.
